MY FIRST OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCE
When people talk about their astral projection experiences, many of them are super enlightening and totally life changing. My first out-of-body experience however wasn’t as enlightening, as many would think.
When I began practicing astral projection, I had around 20 failed attempts before I had my first successful attempt. Getting to the vibrational state was easy for me to reach. The hardest part was actually allowing myself to leave my body once I reached it. The night of my successful attempt when I reached the vibrational state, it felt like my whole body was vibrating and moving even though I physically wasn’t moving at all. In that 3 seconds, I had thoughts of “is this it? is this the time I leave my body? Am I really going to get out?”
I then just kept saying surrender, surrender, surrender. The split second I genuinely felt like I could trust myself, I could feel myself leaving my body. It almost was the same physical feeling as if I was jumping off a swing.
When I left my body… My bedroom still looked dark. Like the exactly same how you would see it physically.
I was a few feet above my bed, and I looked down at my body pointing to myself saying “oh hey, there I am! On my bed, right there!”
I floated up to the other side of my bedroom and wanted to experiment with my surroundings. I stuck my hand in and out through the wall. The weirdest part of all was when I tried looking into the wall. I can see all of the pipes and electrical cords throughout the walls. All I could think about was how ugly houses would look if the walls were glass. My vision however was very glitchy. I believe I couldn’t see totally clearly because my psyche has been so conditioned to the 3D physical world, that subconsciously I was still trying to accept the fact that what I was seeing was real.
I was hoping I would see my spirit guides, but I didn’t see them. Again, I believe this was because my vision wouldn’t allow me to see them on the first experience.
Anyway, after that experience I look around and think to myself “Eh, I’m bored now. I’m gonna go back to my body now!”
And boom. My eyes open, and I say out loud “Well that was fun!” and I went back to bed.
If there’s one thing that this astral projection experience taught me, it really just taught me how to trust myself on a deep consciousness level.
